Brandon also uses a variation of the technique known as Bromoil. Brandon explains, “It isn’t Bromoil, but a variation of the Bromoil approach. I use a black and white silver gelatin photograph and inks and oils are applied. The resulting photograph is a unique image that is a combined photograph and ink and oil painting. Brandon is a true artisan specializing in authentic black and white and artisan photographic prints. The digital process may emulate photography, but the computer cannot create the authenticity of a handcrafted image. “My photographs, whether fine art or portraiture, black and white, toned, watercolour hand tinted, or ink and oil painted are for those with an appreciation for the original.
